As a result of the First Sustainability report to Bolsa Mexicana de Valores that we published in 2017, we have made significant progress during 2018 in our self-diagnosis to reinforce sensitive issues for the Group: our environmental commitment, Human Capital, Corporate Governance and anticorruption.
In the 2018 report, we renewed our environmental commitment, which led us to develop products such as B×+ Energía to finance solar panels and boost renewable energies. We procured Personal Carbon Credits from
Mexico City in order to mitigate the impact of the environmental footprint generated by our operations.
We developed spaces that ensure and promote healthy working environments, which led us to incorporate the Great Place to Work methodology. We promoted 132 employees in recognition of their career within the Group. We provided more than 48,000 hours of face-to-face and online training, including certifications in Money Laundering Prevention and Terrorism Financing of the Mexican Association of Securities Intermediaries (AMIB), Business Continuity, Personal Data Privacy and ARCO Rights, among others.
We launched our Semilleros B×+ program, which has the goal of selecting and recruiting newly graduated college students to train them within the financial sector. We coach them for six months aiming to integrate them into the Group, then they work with the support of an experienced tutor.
We renewed our environmental commitment, which led us to develop products such as B×+ Energía
Together with the Mexican Banks Association (ABM) and the Interactive Economy Museum (MIDE), we launched the Financial Education Union Program. As is tradition, we were part of the National Financial Education Week, organized by the National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Financial Services Users (Condusef) and the ABM with the concrete goal of promoting financial inclusion in our country.
Furthermore, we offered the summer course "Mis primeras acciones", so young participants take an interest on the corporate world through talks, workshops, simulations and visits to several companies listed in the stock exchanges.
We are proud of our outstanding participation in the 2018 Banking Games, organized by the ABM, ascertaining our leadership in several disciplines such as basketball, volleyball, swimming and track and field in the male and female categories, where we won first place.
Once again, we met our goal of the +Km program and contributed to Fundación Kardias´s purpose, which fights to eradicate childhood heart disease.
